The fee for the indoor season which runs from September 30th, 2024 to April 26th, 2025 will be a one-time fee of $50.00 per person. For those who do not wish to pay the $50.00 fee or may be visiting for a day, the fee is $5.00 a day. Paddle Lines- The winners will stay on the court and split. No one will stay on the court for more than two games in a row. Score- Regular scoring to eleven points unless there are four or more players waiting, then play to nine.
Beginners Group: Is learning the rules of play and how to score. Learning to move around the court in a balanced and safe manner. Learning how to get their serve in regularly and improving serve. Learning where to stand on the court during serves, returns, and point play. Has not yet learned how to effectively “dink”/ is learning how to “dink”. Focusing on keeping the ball in play, as opposed to trying to hit it low, hard or placing the ball. Limited to some rallies/ can hold a short rally with players of equal ability or makes longer lasting slow-paced rallies. Demonstrating the basic shot strokes – forehand, backhand, volley, overhead and the serve, but has obvious weaknesses in most strokes.
Intermediate/Advanced: Knows the rules and how to re-figure the score after losing track. Generally able to get their serve in play and return most serves. Understands match strategy and tactics. Play with partners effectively, with proper communication and good team coverage of the court. Aggressive net play and teamwork in doubles is evident. Moves to the net quickly after returning serve. Hits to the weak side of opponents somewhat regularly. Reliable serves, lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys and can use spin shots with some success. Shows consistent and dependable strokes, including directional control and depth on both forehand and backhand shots. Beginning to anticipate opponent’s shots. Uses the dink shot and drop shots to slow down or change the pace of the game. Demonstrates 3rd shot strategies – drop shots, lobs, and fast-paced ground strokes. Fully understands the rules of the game and can play by them.
